Buffalo Fundraiser Campout

For this years fundraiser we are doing two projects thanks to Brother Brock Ball.  His uncle runs a buffalo ranch and we have the opportunity to remove a fence from their property.  We made a camp out of it and it was a lot of work.  But we also had a ton of fun.  Please know that we are truly grateful for the chance to do this work as it pays for all of our activities and lets us go to scout camp.  It is a great felling for these young men to pay their own way.  Thank you to Brock and his family for making this possible!!!

We started off thinking we had everyone.  However we couldn't leave until Mucci got to do his "death pose".

Upon arriving the boys quickly found the nearest hay stack and began climbing.  At the top of the stack the ousted a mother goose and found these 5 little eggs.

Meet Miss Vhanna White.  Oh wait thats just Alex.  Nice pose buddy!

That morning we had bacon, eggs, pancakes.  The boys were a little cold but they seemed to be just fine.
I took this shot of the sunrise.  It was beautiful in swan valley this time of the year.

The boys happily dodged buffalo chips all the day long.  However T.J. seemed to have a more artistic eye and found this beauty.  I felt like saying dont pick that up but he was just so happy about it.  I never thought of telling the boys not to play with them.  Anyway for you moms out there just know we all washed up before we ate lunch.

After all the work was done we separated out the wood from the fencing and built the biggest bon fire of my life.  It was at least 2 stories high.  I love that we called the swan valley fire department and all they said was, "if you have any trouble just call 911".  However we did have proper supervision as evidenced by brother Hansen and brother Payne.

The huge pile of fence posts was reduced to this small pile of ash.

Klondike Derby 2014

Here we are ready to go to the Klondike Derby in 2014.  We had our sled ready and there was no snow in sight.  After we got there we setup camp and had Nachos for dinner.  The scouts came up with a Nat- cho- chair skit.  Since Austin sat in the chair full of nachos.

We had our campfire that night and sang songs.

The next day the boys worked on their Fire Safety merit badge.  They got to checkout a fire truck in the snow.  Someone must have prayed for these boys since we got plenty of snow to run the race with the sleds.

It got cold enough my phone battery died so this is all I got.  We had a lot of fun.  Thanks for all who went.
